10 things I think/know I will miss…yes a large portion of them are food!

1.     My Families – Tons of kiddos that will change so much in 8 months!  Not to mention leaving my brand new fiancé!

2.     Provel Cheese/Imo’s – No explanation needed, but no one outside of St. Louis understands
3.     Mom’s Fried Chicken – Luckily I got my fill at my birthday meal just a few weeks ago!
4.     Coffee Shop Downstairs – Morning latte, evening gelato, just love it!
5.     My every day work routine – Change can just be scary
6.     My Co-Workers and friends – Never ending amount of support from these gal pals!

7.     Toasted Ravioli – Another St. Louis tradition, although I think it’s expanding!
8.     My Big Apartment – Moving to a studio, different blog post to come, I’m sure
9.     Walks to get froyo on Washington Avenue – Good friends, good company, good froyo
10. Lake Ashley – Good ole’ Bourbon, MO listening to ZBB on the lake with a glass of wine with friends and family.  Nothing can beat it, not even Lake Geneva!

How to get to Vevey

I had a number of amazing going away parties, happy hours and supportive celebrations!  One that I wanted to share in particular happened to be with my co-workers.  Thursday before my last day at work, we had a little get together with cake at 8:30am, why not?  My previous supervisor got up and said a few things about me, which were so very special and meant so much.

Then he shared a booklet with me.  He went to Vevey two weeks ago, and he knew how nervous I was about making the trip across the pond for the first time (yes, you read that correctly, first time going abroad!), he took pictures all along the way.  He took a picture of his airplane and then of the Geneva airport, and then the train station, he captured pictures of the vineyards on the train from Geneva to Vevey and even took pictures around town of headquarters, the Alps, coffee shops, etc.  This was so thoughtful and provided me with this entire new layer of comfort, I just had to share.

I can’t wait to share in a blog post our own booklet that we’ve created from our adventure.  So thankful, I get to spend this adventure with my fiancé!

The beginning

Just over 2 years ago I started a career that I love at Nestle Purina.  Little did I know, a few teams, some great leadership and a short amount of time later, I’d be on my way to Vevey, Switzerland.

I was told on January 30, that I had in fact been accepted into the Digital Acceleration Team.  To my great surprise, but overwhelming honor, I began preparing.  As a Midwest girl, born and raised, this took a lot!

A number of discussions, a few happy, but anxious tears and an engagement later, here I am on a plane headed over with my fiancé, and I could not be more excited.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and I’m thrilled that I get to be a part of it and even more excited to share my journey with my supportive co-workers, supervisors and loved ones along the way.
